Dr. Wyatt W. Decker
Wyatt W. Decker, MD, assumed the position of CEO of Mayo Clinic in Arizona in July 2011 and Vice President of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Decker previously was a member of the Mayo Clinic Operations Leadership Team and Professor of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.
He served as the inaugural Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester from 2000-2008. He received his medical degree from Mayo Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, followed by an emergency medicine residency at Denver Health and Hospitals. He is board-certified in emergency medicine and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Decker headed up the assessment team during the crisis in Haiti after a major hurricane destroyed much of the island. He has met with the U.S. Congress and is often a spokesman for Mayo Clinic on the media. Dr. Decker spearheaded The Arizona Resilience Program for physicians, leaders, and nurses in 2014 that Joe Bailey and Dr. Keith Blevens delivered. He is writing the foreword to Joe’s new book, Beyond Burnout.
